A great buy for anyone interested in a RPG that will last for more than a month. Be careful not to venture off too quickly without the proper levels and gear.I have yet to complete this game, but so far it is good. Final Fantasy tactics is a beautiful tactical game for the psp.Pro's-Beautiful rendered cut-scenes with a different "story-book style"-The voice-acting fits the characters.-Battles call for strategy-Game-play can be hours long. This won't be finished in one-day's sitting.-A long storyline with mini-questCon's-Camera angle.-Not all characters can use "potion" to heal, they must obtain this as a skill which can be annoying if your healer is way off and your units are being attacked to death.-Advancing to other areas can mean stronger monsters.
Faith, on the other hand, deals with how strong of a spell caster (white mage, black mage, time mage, etc). However, if you do know the importance of the Bravery and Faith of a character this game is tons of fun and well worth the buy, especially if you like role playing games or Final Fantasy. This is the first Final Fantasy Tactics I have played and I must say it was a very fun game. The game play definitely makes up for the sometimes confusing plot. The lack to explain what the Bravery and Faith are for is the major flaw (and probably one of the only flaws) of this game. Pretty much Bravery is how strong of a warrior (knight, ninja, monk, etc). Bravery deals with the physical attack strength and defense of a character.
I got half way through the game and had to start from scratch because my characters were just too weak to defeat anymore bosses. You will have high level mages who can never hit enemies with spells because they have low faith, and high level attackers who do pitiful damage because they have low bravery.
It is never explained to you what the "Bravery" and "Faith" of each character represents, which is vital. Faith deals with magical attack and defense of a character. If you are like me and don't know this the game is going to be very hard and frustrating.
The plot got a little thick and confusing at times but not bad. your character can become.
I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars. However, understanding how to build strong characters is tricky.
your character can become.
A great addiction to the handheld world, giving one the dream of fighting anothers team. A game you can play for the rest of your life.
This, combined with the restrictive camera angles, makes playing the game a chore for the retinas.Be forewarned. I felt almost sickened after the playing the game for extended periods, and could not finish playing the game as I did with the PSOne version. Too fuzzy for my eyes.
The storyline, a complete snore in the early hours, ramps up into an unexpected gem. However, two major complaints with the game (and the reason for the two-star review):1. The graphics. For those who never played the PSOne original, FF Tactics is a solid turn-based RPG with outstanding length and customization features.
Read every other review here, even the good ones, and you'll notice the same complaint about the graphical translation: They're FUZZY. There's a good game hidden underneath the visual mess, but it's QUITE a mess. The genre has passed this game by.
Disgaea (also a remake, but of a PS2 game) on the PSP has a more diverse battle system, and Jeanne D'Arc is such a polished product in terms of storytelling and gameplay compared to this one.2.
I played the first couple of battles (never even looked at the manual) and decided that the game wasn't for me. Not through this Square Enix classic, actually through Nintendo's Fire Emblem series. I bought a cheap used Game Boy Advance where I could play through a couple F.E. After loving all of these games, I knew it was time to go back to Final Fantasy Tactics. The reason I say this is because the most enjoyable thing about this game is developing your characters.
Several years later, I finally came around to tactical role playing games. When I read that they were updating the game for the PSP, I knew I had to start saving my money.Final Fantasy Tactics and I are finally united. Those are still genres I enjoy, but my Final Fantasy VII experience created a serious love of good RPGs. I finished the game up a couple of days ago, but part of me didn't want to.
Learn from my experience.if you aren't ready to fully commit to the game, you will not get anything out of it. This game what not at all what I was hoping for. When I was in college my buddy convinced me to play Final Fantasy VII. Games. You can't just pick the game up for the first time and expect to have a good time with it.
I plunk down my $50 only to get home and experience severe buyers remorse. It is one of the finest games I have ever played. The movies scenes are amazing. I was in to sports games and action/platformers.
The story is very strong. There is a steep learning curve for the game, but once you are in, you will likely be hooked. Learning new abilities is always fun and you can completely customize your party to your liking. You have to read through some of the lengthy tutorials and probably spend some time with an online guide. This game is fantastic in almost every way.
As with any Final Fantasy game, there are some fun side quests and cool characters to add to your party (Cloud, anyone). The battles are fun and fast, but a lot of the games fun (for me, at least) comes between the battles. There are a couple of other SRPGs on the PSP, but I am a little afraid that I will be let down after playing this game. I wish there were more, I could have watched them for hours.
So after loving Final Fantasy VII, I learned that there was a game created by the same people that had gotten some good reviews.Final Fantasy Tactics. Online guides are helpful in letting you know how to get to the Ninja class (my favorite class in the game), for example. I searched Ebay and Amazon and found that picking up a used copy of Tactics was a pricey adventure. I didn't even care when my college roommate took the game home with him for good.
Also on the system I played through Tactics Ogre and finally stumbled across Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced.
